Centers for Theoretical and Practical Exams in Costa Rica

In Costa Rica, the theoretical and practical exams for obtaining a driver's license are conducted at 13 centers of the General Directorate of Road Education (DGEV) distributed throughout the country. These centers are located in various provinces and are open from Monday to Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Below are the main locations of these centers:

  • San José: Located in San Sebastián, near the Women's Hospital.
  • Alajuela: In Montecillos, next to the MOPT Facility.
  • Heredia: In Barva, at Puente Salas, Calle La Amada.
  • Liberia: Next to the Traffic Police delegation, on the road to Daniel Oduber Airport.
  • Nicoya: In downtown Nicoya, near the Rural Guard.
  • Pérez Zeledón: Near the MOPT facility, on the road to Dominical.
  • Puntarenas: In Chacarita, on the west side of the MOPT facility.
  • San Carlos: Next to the Traffic Police delegation.
  • San Ramón: Near Carlos Valverde Vega Hospital.
  • Limón: In Barrio Sandoval, next to the MOPT facility.
  • Río Claro: Next to the MOPT facility in Río Claro de Golfito.
  • Guápiles: Near the Courthouse, next to the Traffic Delegation.
  • Cartago: In Taras, near the gas station and the MOPT facility.
